Question about Gerber vanilla custard pudding stage 2?

i tought it should have a smooth texture not runny with a sand texture,the date says oct/07.i brought it in the plastic containers not the gl jar.i remember it as a more smooth texture.have you brought this and it was the same for you too? i brought it for my granddaughter tonight. when my kids were little it was a smooth texture, didnt give it to her.
