How do you, as a parent, feel about this statement?

Today I saw a clip of Obama saying if one of his two daughters made a "mistake", he would not want them to be "punished by having a baby". Do you think it would be harder for him to make this statement if he were to rephrase it by saying he would not want them to be punished by having "his grandchild"? I think he would probably rethink that statement.
