Been Charged with Poss. of Mari-j in Pa, whats going to happen?

I've Been Charged with possesion of a small amount of Marijuana and parriphenellia (cant spell that but aka a pipe). I live in the state of PA, its considered a misdemeanor, this is my first offence, i will be having a preliminary trial to decide my bail. What does this mean exactly? will i be put on probation, fined or thrown in jail?
